Star Wars Battlefront gets new outfits, private matches, daily challenges and more modes on Tatooine in a free update that hits tomorrow, according to a lengthy post written by Sigurlina Ingvarsdottir, the game's senior producer, this afternoon.

"Unfortunately, the game was cut short while still having so much potential for wonderful new content. New maps, heroes, skins, private matches, private servers, etc. are a must for this game. All those who sign this petition would be willing to pay for new DLC to keep this awesome game alive."

So! Today's update adds the ability to create private matches, support for more modes on the Tatooine Survival map, sensible winter outfits for Luke and Han on Hoth, daily challenges and community events, and balance tweaks.

To start, we're getting free Hoth-themed costumes for Luke Skywalker and Han Solo tomorrow, along with some tweaks, the ability to create private matches, and new mode for the Tattooine survival map. All of that hits tomorrow as part of the January update. Another free update in February comes with a Hoth map that supports all of the game's large multiplayer modes. The last free update comes with another Endor map in March.

Get ready, Star Wars: Battlefront buffs -- there's a ton of downloadable content coming your way. For starters, following the release of the Battle of Jakku in December, DICE will add more DLC content to its game tomorrow, January 27th. This includes the ability for player's to create private matches, support for new multiplayer modes in the Tatooine Survival map, and Battle of Hoth-themed character clothing for Luke Skywalker and Han Solo. While that's all fine and dandy, we know what you're here for: the Death Star.

EA has also started to bring new content into the game with this update, keeping inline with their promise to add something each month. Private matches and daily challenges are added along with Hoth-themed skins for Luke and Han.
