They remove like normal nail polish. The UV exposure hardens it but not in the same way as a soak-off gel. I have heard that if you wear a UV-activated top coat or polish, like VINYLUX for an extended period of time, like on your toes, it does take extra time with remover to get off. But not to the extent of gel polish.

I recently used Sally Hansen save the nail as a base coat followed by Gel Effect by Nina ultra pro polish and topped with Seche vite top coat. After only 1 to 2 days the polish came off in one piece looking like a false nail. The girl in the shop told me Gel Effect by Nina went on like ordinary polish. What did I do wrong? Was it the base coat?

Each Glis-tics Cuticle Oil contains .37 oz which I think is approx. 11 ml. I would have loved to see a list of ingredients somewhere. The oil feels nice and nourishes well and I'll be using it up for sure.

HK Girl Top Coat - I was very curious about this product because everybody raves about it. By now, when I'm writing this review I'm almost out because it is really good top coat and I've been using it for almost every recent manicure (they're just starting to be publishes, I'm majorly behind). I've been always raving about Seche Vite and I still love it but there are some major advantages with using HK Girl Top Coat. I didn't have any shrinkage of polish and it doesn't get so thick and gloopy like Seche Vite.

I did notice that there was a bit of shrinkage around the cuticle area from where the top coat (I used HK Girl) had been applied. (Shrinkage is when the top coat dries quickly and pulls away from the edges).

Oh man, I love a good red polish. And this one is a particularly nice color. Again, the formula was more liquid and tended to want to flood the nail, but by keeping the coats thin I had more control over the polish.

For this look you will need a black nail polish, a gold glitter nail polish, an opaque gold nail polish or stamping polish, a quick dry top coat, stamping plates and a stamper/scraper set, and (optional) a matte top coat.

To finish and protect my look I topped it off with a quick-dry top coat (my absolute favourite top coat is Glisten & Glow HK Girl Fast Drying Top Coat, Canadian readers can buy this at Nailpolishcanada.com).

I love this comparison.I would love to see the same thing with a matte topcoat comparison. I have 3 NYC matte topcoat from Walmart, the hard candy you showed, and the new Revlon matte too coat that I bought at Walgreens.

Ideally, every polish is designed to be able to be worn without top coat. Some are designed to have their own special finish (textures, mattes), but by and large, the standard glossy polish will be improved with the addition of a top coat.

It also helps if you stroke the brush across while maintaining that angle by moving your whole hand. There are plenty of people who can apply top coat perfectly well with a vertical brush. I kind of hate those people.

It is always good to re-learn these types of things. I love my Seche top coat. On a side not though, do NOT ever accidently pour Seche top coat into your Seche base coat bottle. Unless you are into the whole cool science experiment it will make you cry. Thanks for the tips. I look forward to more.

Does anyone have a good top coat they like that is 3 free? I only use 3 free polishes pregnant or not, but I've always been a sucker for Seche Vite top coat...only I won't use it when pregnant because I know it's not 3 free. I haven't been polishing my nails much since I found out I'm pregnant, but when I do ..I want it to last ..lol.
