Millat e Islamia ki Mukhtasar Tareekh (A Brief History of the Islamic Nation) is a book written by Sarwat Saulat, a Pakistani historian and scholar. The second part of the book covers the history of the Indian Subcontinent from the arrival of Muslims in 711 CE to the partition of India and Pakistan in 1947 CE. The book discusses the conquests and rule of various Muslim dynasties such as the Ghaznavids, Ghurids, Delhi Sultanate, Mughals, Deccan Sultanate and Bengal Sultanate, the interactions and conflicts between Muslims and Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists and Jains, the cultural and intellectual achievements of Muslims in India, the role of Sufis and saints in spreading Islam, the challenges posed by British colonialism and Hindu nationalism, and the struggle for independence and partition of India and Pakistan.


Part 3: Central Asia, Iran and Turkey




The third part of the book covers the history of Central Asia, Iran and Turkey from the spread of Islam in 7th century CE to the present day. The book discusses the contributions of various Muslim civilizations such as the Samanids, Karakhanids, Khwarezmians, Timurids, Safavids, Afsharids, Qajars, Pahlavis and Khomeinis in Iran, the Seljuks, Mongols, Ilkhanids, Timurids, Ottomans, Young Turks and Kemalists in Turkey, and the Turkic peoples in Central Asia.
